The Teaching Practice of Integrating R Programming and Case Studies for Improving the Data Analysis Competitiveness of Food Professionals
Under these circumstances of big data age,the high-throughput omics technology rapidly develops and has brought opportunities to solve the complex issues of food nutrition and health science.However,the omics-derived multidimensional data also brings great challenges.R programming has a complete system for data preparation,processing,analysis,modeling,and visualization,playing an important role in statistical teaching and scientific researches.Case studies based on the food in-dustry is a core teaching tool can help students to enhance their interests and abilities in data analysis and interpretation.This work described the application of R language learning and case teaching,discussed the teaching methods applicable to the statistical analysis course for food professional students.The excellent visualization function of R could deepen students'under-standing of statistical theory and data analysis ability,explored the teaching methods suitable for the teaching of statistical analysis course,and emphasize R programming's advantages in conducting cutting-edge food science researches.
