The Chinese giant salamander bone,one of the primary byproducts of the Chinese giant salamander processing,is rich in calcium and collagen content.Enzymatic hydrolysis,separation,and purification can be used to extract collagen pep-tides with various functional activities.Therefore,products containing these collagen peptides can increase the added value of the Chinese giant salamander industry and have tremendous market potential.The species information of the Chinese giant salamander was simply introduced,preparation,bioactivities,and application in health products and the pharmaceutical field are also reviewed.The advantages and disadvantages of three methods for preparing collagen peptides were compared.The de-velopment prospects of Chinese giant salamander bone collagen peptides in the healthcare field were analyzed.They would pro-vide a reference for the study and application of Chinese giant salamander bone collagen peptides.
