Isolation, identification and biological characteristics of a pathogenic fungus causing areca taro disease
In order to improve the yield and quality of areca taro, and to explore the biological characteristics of the pathogen of areca taro disease, pathogenic fungi were isolated from spots of the diseased leaves of Fuding areca taro, and the suspected strain T5-1 was obtained.Through Koch's rule for disease identification,mor-phology,and sequencing,it was preliminarily proved that it belongs to Rhizopus microsporus.Research on bio-logical characteristics has found that the front of its colony is grayish-white,while the back is yellowish-brown.The hyphae are fluffy and extends, with neat edges and black spore sacs. The experimental results show that the pathogen can grow in the medium of pH=5-9,with an optimal pH=6.It can also grow at 4-45℃,with an optimal temperature of 40℃.
