Analysis of distribution characteristics of typhoon and strong wind weather along the coast of eastern Fujian
The characteristics of typhoon gale weather,the characteristics of typhoon frequency and the severity of typhoon gale weather are analyzed based on the typhoon information of Fujian Province from 2011 to 2020.The hourly data from the Central Meteorological Observatory and the observation data from automatic coastal stations are applied.The interannual characteristics are also analyzed.The results show that 62 typhoons af-fected eastern Fujian between 2011 and 2020,among which 56 caused strong winds along the coast of eastern Fujian,resulting in an average annual occurrence of 5.6.The influence period of typhoon and gales in the east-ern Fujian coast is from June to November.However,the typhoon and gale weather process in the east Fujian coast is the most prevalent in August,and the influence of typhoons in autumn can cause gale weather in the east Fujian coast.Compared with other months,July is more prone to strong typhoon winds along the eastern coast of Fujian.In recent 10 years,36％of the typhoon winds along the eastern coast of Fujian in July have reached grade 12 or above,with 18％of these reaching grade 14 or above.The proportion of strong winds of two grades in July is the highest among all months.Typhoons of type T1,T2 and T3 all caused gale weather along the coast of east Fujian,and 92.3％of Type T4 typhoons and 86.7％of type T5 typhoons also caused gale weather.In terms of the intensity of typhoon gale weather,T1 and T2 typhoons cause the strongest winds,with gusts reaching up to 14 and above,and T3,T4 and T5 typhoons are of weak gale strength.There are differences in the maximum wind speeds related with typhoons in different regions with different paths,but in most cases,the closer a typhoon is to the open sea at the same latitude,the more severe the wind impact.The maximum ty-phoon wind speed occurs mostly in the island stations,with the maximun wind speeds also reaching a larger level in stations near the open sea in each terrain area,while stations near the mainland and island stations in the gulf often exhibit the lowest wind speeds.
