Research on Flow Control Device and Metallurgical Effect of Tundish for Bloom CCM
This article takes the tundish for a five-strand bloom continuous casting machine of a steel-making plant as the research object,and uses numerical simulation methods to study the flow characteristics of molten steel in the tundish under different flow control devices and operating parameters.The research results indicate that a reasonably designed tundish structure with a combination of turbulence dampers,retaining walls,and dams has a significant impact on the flow state of molten steel.It can extend the residence time of molten steel in the tundish,and achieve metallurgical effects of removing inclusions and unifying the temperature of molten steel in each flow.The optimized tundish structure can better meet the re-quirements of high-quality special steel.
