Effect of video of acute abdomen cases in general surgery internship of nursing undergraduates
Objective To explore the practical effect of video of acute abdomen cases combined with ward internship and group case study in nursing practice.Methods Convenience sampling was used to select 129 nursing students in the nursing department of a university in Hebei Province as the research object.Quantitative and qualitative method including video watching,ward internship questionnaire survey and writing internship log were used to evaluate the teaching effect.Results In terms of teaching method,traditional cramming teaching was changed(92.2%),and students enjoyed the clinical atmosphere(93.8%),which cultivated nursing students'professional emotion(93.0%).In terms of ability promotion,students'creative thinking ability(94.6%)was promoted,and their learning interest(93.0%)was stimulated.Video of acute abdomen cases was helpful to acquire knowledge related to acute abdomen(96.1%)and case feedback affirmed students'efforts(96.1%),etc.Moreover,four themes were extracted from internship log,including mastering the key points of acute abdomen care;simulating clinically realistic scenarios;enhancing the sense of teamwork;making learning and life interesting.Conclusion The internship mode of video of acute abdomen cases combined with group discussion changes traditional method of one-way knowledge transmission.It has fostered nursing students'integrated application of knowledge,especially providing a valuable offline supplement for times when clinical exposure is insufficient or during public health emergencies.
