Development and implementation of Integrated Modular Theoretical and experimental curriculum using case-based analysis in nursing pathophysiology education
Objective To construct an integrated modular theoretical and experimental pathophysiology course system based on clinical case analysis in nursing pathophysiology education and explore its teaching effect. Methods Nursing undergraduates from grade 2017 to 2020 were selected as the research objects and divided into control group and experimental group. The control group was given traditional theoretical teaching, while the experimental group modular theoretical teaching based on case analysis. Results The comparison of the two groups showed there was improved performance in the experimental group:the average score increased from 78.94(grade 2017)to 80.21(grade 2018),81.36(grade 2019)and 88.25(grade 2020,P<0.05),and the excellence rate(the score>80)increased from 28%(grade 2017)to 57%(grade 2018),50%(grade 2019)and 67%(grade 2020,P<0.05).The students'evaluation of the course was also gradually improved. Conclusion The integrated modular theoretical and experimental teaching based on clinical case analysis can strengthen nursing students'grasp of pathophysiological knowledge and advance their overall competencies.
