Best evidence summary for developmental supportive care in premature infants in neonatal intensive care units
Objective To integrate the best evidence for developmental supportive care of premature infants in neonatal intensive care units(NICUs),and to offer an evidence-based assessment and management of developmental supportive care for preterm infants for clinical medical staff.Methods We retrieved literature including guidelines,expert consensuses,evidence summaries,systematic reviews,and meta-analyses pertaining to developmental support care for preterm infants in both English and Chinese databases as well as guideline websites from January 2013 to October 2023.Results Twenty-nine articles were collected,including seven guidelines,three expert consensus statements,three evidence summaries,and sixteen systematic reviews.Thirty-six pieces of evidence were summarized from seven aspects.Conclusion This study summarizes the best evidence for developmental support care for premature infants,delivering a robust evidence base for medical staff.In clinical practice,specific clinical scenarios should be incorporated in order to standardize the management of developmental support care for preterm infants.
