Reform and practice of online and offline blended teaching in higher vocational course of vanguard exemplars and first aid skills from perspective of urgent vanguard
Objective To explore the application effect of a blended teaching model(online virtual simulation training+offline room escape)in the teaching of Pioneer Exemplars and First Aid Skills from the perspective of urgent vanguard. Methods Convenient sampling was used to select three-year nursing students as the research subjects.Three classes were involved in control group adopting traditional teaching mode, while another three classes in observation group implementing a blended teaching approach(online virtual simulation training+offline room escape).Students' performance in theoretical knowledge test and skill assessment, learning engagement and critical thinking score were compared in the two groups. Results The observation group of students scored significantly higher than the control group in terms of theoretical knowledge and skills assessment and learning engagement. The score of each dimension, and the total score of critical thinking were also higher in the observation group(P<0.05).Conclusion The blended teaching model can effectively stimulate nursing students'learning engagement, improve their first-aid knowledge and skills, and enhance their critical thinking ability.
