Status quo of self-compassion in patients with colorectal cancer stoma and its influencing factors
Objective To analyze the current status of self-compassion in patients with colorectal cancer stoma and to explore its influencing factors.Methods Convenience sampling was used to select 228 patients with colorectal cancer stoma from a tertiary grade-A specialized hospital in Hunan Province from November 2022 to May 2023.General Demographic Information Questionnaire,Self-compassion Assessment Scale,and Social Support Scale were used to conduct the survey among the patients.The factors influencing self-compassion in patients with colorectal cancer stoma were analyzed by multiple linear stepwise regression.Results The score of self-compassion of patients with colorectal cancer stoma was 81.41±14.37,and that of social support 46.44±8.36.Self-compassion of patients with colorectal cancer ostomy was correlated with social support(r=0.645,P<0.01).Multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that family's monthly income,the status of the stoma,monthly cost of stoma product,stoma complication and social support entered the stepwise regression equation(P<0.05),explaining 47.8%of the total variation.Conclusion The level of self-compassion of patients with colorectal cancer stoma in this study is low,and monthly family income,ostomy status,monthly cost of ostomy products,ostomy complications,and social support are the main influencing factors.
