Construction and Development of Cultural Landscape Genetic Information Chains of Traditional Villages based on the Perspectives of Tourists
The cultural landscapes of traditional villages carry abundant historical information accumulated over thousands of years of Chinese traditional culture. As these landscapes have witnessed the development and evolution of traditional villages, they are windows into the past, showcasing the integration of culture and tourism. They have significance for inheriting and developing the best of Chinese traditional culture and building a country that acknowledges the past, albeit with socialist characteristics.Studying the establishment and development of cultural landscape genetic information chains is conducive to protecting and developing these cultural landscapes from an overall village perspective.Although tourists are the dominant perception group of cultural landscapes, current research on cultural landscape genes tends to pay scant attention to tourist experiences and evaluations.Compared to host(resident)perceptions in the"host-guest"perception model, guest(tourist)perceptions, known as the subjective perception or valuation of objective entities, can solve problems in the cultural landscape development of traditional villages, such as insufficient identity, low participation, and lack of distinctiveness, providing not only a link in the cultural landscape genetic information chain but also a key factor in studying the development of cultural tourism in traditional villages. This study built a cultural landscape genetic recognition index system for Qiqiao Village,a traditional Chinese village, based on landscape gene theory,to recognize and extract its cultural landscape genes from the perspectives of tourists. The study carried out a questionnaire survey and used SPSS modeling to analyze and review the results of tourist perceptions. The information chain was built based on various cultural landscape genes, with attention given to the classification and development of information corridors.Such corridors can provide new research ideas and a practical method for protecting, inheriting, sustainably developing, and integrating the cultural tourism of traditional Chinese villages. The results are as follows:First, the cultural landscape genes of Qiqiao Village mainly include spatial form culture,Hui-style culture in the Ming and Qing dynasties, environmental feature culture, religious inheritance culture, and traditional folk culture.Second, tourists have relatively high perceptions of the cultural landscape genes of Qiqiao Village, such as street patterns, public historical buildings, and natural or artificial landforms, with relatively low perceptions of folk stories and traditional techniques.Third, according to the recognition and extraction results of the cultural landscape genes of Qiqiao Village,as well as analysis of tourist perceptions, two types of perception information corridors were built and then integrated to form a cultural landscape genetic perception information network. Finally,a cultural landscape genetic perception information chain for Qiqiao Village with the four-dimensional connection of"kernel-point-axis-network"was formed.Fourth,Qiqiao Village can protect, inherit, activate, and develop its cultural landscapes by establishing and developing cultural landscape protection and inheritance perception information corridors(e.g.human-land relation perception corridor,Hui-style cultural perception corridor, landform feature perception corridor, clan cultural perception corridor, traditional technique perception corridors).Studying the establishment and development of the cultural landscape genetic perception information chain of traditional villages can review and integrate the cultural landscape resources of these villages. It can also provide a way to study traditional villages and create tourist perception experiences with distinctive features such as primary culture and high identification degree, thus realizing their sustainable development. The research results can provide more explicit action for protecting the heritage of cultural landscapes and revitalizing cultural tourism in traditional rural villages.
