A Study on the Influence of Flexible Employment on Married Women's Fertility Intention Under Digital Economy
The booming digital economy has given rise to a large number of flexible employment positions, which provides good opportunities for married women's employment and is expected to enhance their fertility intentions. This paper, based on the data from 2014,2016 and 2018 CLDS,analyzes the impact of flexible employment on married women's fertility intentions under the digital economy, and the results show that flexible employment significantly increases the ideal number of children for married women, lowers their age of first childbearing, and is an important factor in enhancing their fertility intentions.Further mechanism analysis shows that flexible employment in the digital economy transfers their fertility intentions by increasing the married women's labor income and work autonomy. Therefore, promoting the development of the digital economy and flexible employment is an important approach to increase the married women's fertility intentions and thus to stop the trend of increasingly declined fertility and fewer children.
