Application progress of mullite composite refractories
Mullite has a high melting point,high hardness,and good thermal shock resistance,corrosion re-sistance and hot mechanical properties.Mullite raw materials are mostly synthesized by the sintering meth-od and electric melting method.The research and application progress of mullite composite refractories produced from mullite in the fields such as ceramics,metallurgy,aerospace,military industry,cement and glass were reviewed.The future developing of mullite in refractories was prospected.
