Dilemma and Way Out:Employment Rights and Benefits Protection for Women with Disabilities from an Intersectional Perspective
Previous discussions on the employment of persons with disabilities or the employment of women lacked attention to disabled individuals among women.The scale of disabled women in China is huge,and the employment rights and interests of disabled women,such as the right to equal employment,the right to labor remuneration and the right to labor conditions,are facing serious di-lemmas.From the perspective of intersectionality theory,the paper analyzes the plight of disabled women's employment rights and in-terests in China,and analyze the multiple and intersecting pressures and discrimination of disabled women in China at the macro(tra-ditional concepts and the legal system),meso(media's image control and intergenerational pressures),and micro(disability discrimi-nation and gender discrimination)levels.In this regard,the protection of the employment rights and interests of women with disabilities should promote the conceptual change of anti-discrimination against women with disabilities,and promote the mainstreaming of disabili-ties and gender mainstreaming;establish a mechanism for the dual assessment of gender and disability in legislation,and improve the design of the legal system and the construction of supporting measures;and optimize the collaborative network of pluralistic subjects in order to seek social cohesion,so as to effectively safeguard the employment rights and interests of women with disabilities.
