Effect of different ratio of mixed fillers on properties of gasket-free silicone sealant
Gasket-free silicone sealant is a single component room temperature vulcanized sealant that can be used in applications requiring high sealing, such as automobiles,high-speed rail, aerospace and other fields.By adding filler to the sealant, the physical and chemical properties of the sealant can be improved. In this paper, nano calci-um carbonate and silicon powder were used as fillers to study the effects of different filler ratios on the properties of gasket-free silicone rubber under the condition that the total mass of fillers was fixed. It was found that when the mass ratio of nano-calcium carbonate to silicon powder decreased, the surface drying speed, curing depth and high temperature resistance of gasket free silicone adhesive increased, but the mechanical properties and adhesion to metal substrate gradually weakened.Combined with the comprehensive properties, the gasket-free silicone sealant prepared when the mass ratio of nano-calcium carbonate to silicon powder is 5∶2 has more comprehensive physical and chemical properties.
