Study on the effect of fly ash mixing on the properties of mortar concrete and its hardening mechanism
In order to carry out a systematic study on the effect of fly ash instead of cement on the performance of concrete, the effects of fly ash instead of cement on the water retention rate, consistency, slump and compressive strength of mortar concrete were analyzed, the mechanism of fly ash in improving the performance of concrete was revealed, and the hydration and hardening mechanism of fly ash was clarified. When the substitution rate of fly ash for cement increased from 0% to 30%,the water retention decreased, consistency and slump initially increased then decreased, and compressive strength decreased. When the replacement rate of fly ash was 20%,the fluidity of the concrete paste was optimal.Fly ash has pozzolanic activity and can undergo secondary hydration reactions with ce-ment hydration products, forming C—S—H and C—A—S—H gels,so the strength growth rate of concrete in the lat-er stages of curing is faster than that in the early stages.
