As primary institutions of higher education,colleges and universities possess unique conditions and inherent advantages for conducting elderly education.The policy shifts across the initial,exploratory,and normative phases of the elderly education in Chi-nese universities highlight the evolution of this education from a"marginalized"role to a"central force."Empowering elderly educa-tion within universities reflects the essential functions of these institutions,serves as a strong response to population aging,aligns with the international trend of lifelong education,and embodies the valuable insights from years of domestic educational practice.There-fore,exploring ways for universities to empower elderly education through policy guidance,streamlined management systems,and en-hanced operational mechanisms is of great practical significance.
