"Towards the Workers and Peasants":The Triple Progression of the People-Centered Nature of Chinese Intellectuals
The people-centered nature of Chinese intellectuals emerged from the great social revolution led by the Communist Party of China.Guided by Mao Zedong's thought of"Towards the Workers and Peas-ants",the shaping of this nature has undergone a triple progression:from old to new,from individual to col-lective,and from abstract to concrete.Against the backdrop of the transformation of social relations,intellec-tuals liberated themselves from the entanglements with the old society,culture,and ideologies.In response to the theoretical appeal for keeping close contact with the masses,they bridged the ideological divide with the workers and peasants.Through the revolutionary practice of participating in productive labor,they estab-lished a truth-seeking and pragmatic Marxist labor value system.A scientific analysis of the evolution and progression of Chinese intellectuals during the great social revolution,and an accurate grasp of the scientific connotation of their people-centered nature,are essential theoretical preparations for strengthening talent support of Chinese modernization in the new era.
