Spatial Disparities,Dynamic Evolution, and Driving Factors of Digital Economy Development from the Pro-vincial Perspective
From the provincial perspective, based on the panel data from 2013 to 2022,this paper empiri-cally analyzes the spatial disparities, dynamic evolution, and driving factors of China's digital economy de-velopment,with methodologies including the Dagum Gini coefficient,Spatial Markov Chain, and geographi-cal detectors. The study reveals an upward trend in China's digital economy development, characterized by a spatial pattern of"high in the east and low in the central and western regions".The overall spatial dispari-ties demonstrate a downswing, primarily attributed to intraregional differences.China's digital economy ex-hibits a tendency to evolve towards higher levels, with medium-low level regions tending to shift towards the western and low-level regions towards the northeastern regions. The level of economic development and re-search and development(R&D)expenditure are identified as the primary positive driving factors behind the spatial disparities in digital economy development.Furthermore, the influence of interactions among differ-ent factors on spatial disparities varies across different years.
