Study on Combustion and Emission Characteristics of Diesel Engine Using Methanol/Diesel Blends
The combustion and emission characteristics of methanol /diesel blends with three kinds of blending ratio ( M5 , M10 , M15 ) were comparatively investigated in 186 FA diesel engine without changing the structure parameters . The results indicated that , compared with diesel , with the increase of blending ratio , the maximum cylinder pressure in-creased , the maximum rate of pressure rise improved , combustion start delayed , instantaneous heat release rate curve ex-hibited an unimodal variation , peak of heat release increased and corresponding crank angel hysteresis , ignition delay was extended;NOX emission increased slightly , soot emission significantly improved , CO and HC emission increased slightly at low load , significantly at high load .
