Design and Test of Diversion Device for Reducing the Loss of Fresh Corn Harvester Ear Box
In view of the problem that the harvested corn ears directly hit the bottom plate of the ear box from the convey-or belt during the operation of the fresh corn combine harvester,or the ear first hit the rear side plate of the ear box and then bounced to its bottom plate, the ear damage caused by the secondary impact is serious, this paper designed the ear box damage diversion device that can reduce the damage of the ear.The device was welded on the ear box,and was com-posed of the inclined bottom plate and the connecting part between the rear side plate of the ear box and the bottom plate.Through the rolling friction test on the fresh corn, the inclination of the inclined bottom plate of the ear box was designed as 8°.Through the kinematic analysis of the corn ears that were on the conveyor belt and thrown into the air from the conveyor belt, the connection part between the rear side plate and the bottom plate of the ear box was designed as the quickest descent line, and the parameter equation of the quickest descent line was calculated according to the installation position and size.In order to verify the operation performance of the designed impairment diversion device, two fresh corn harvesters carrying the ear box without impairment diversion device and the ear box with impairment diversion device were tested in the field at different forward operating speeds of 6 km/h,8 km/h and 10 km/h.The test results showed that the average damage rate of the bottom corn in the ear box with the designed impairment diversion device was lower than that in the ear box without impairment diversion device at different operating speeds, meeted the operation requirements.
