Experimental Study on the Biomechanical Characteristics of Millet Pepper
To improve the quality and efficiency of mechanized harvesting of millet pepper, experimental measurements were conducted on the physical and mechanical properties of millet pepper.According to measurement, the water content of millet pepper within 15 days was 86%-90%,with the highest in the middle, followed by the head, and the lowest in the tail.Through tensile tests, the tensile strength of millet pepper was 0.679 MPa±0.03 MPa,when it was broken.Using the orthogonal rotation combination design method, the impact of loading speed on compressive strength was extremely significant, the impact of millet pepper diameter on compressive strength was significant, and the impact of loading speed on shear strength was significant.Through axial compression and shear tests, the average compressive strength and elastic modulus of the head of millet pepper were 0.62 MPa and 2.72 MPa.respectively; The average com-pressive strength in the middle was 0.64 MPa,and the average elastic modulus was 3.17 MPa.The average compressive strength of the tail was 0.61 MPa,and the average elastic modulus was 2.64 MPa.The average shear strength of millet pepper was 0.32 MPa.
