Design of low sidelobe multibeam array antenna based on ridge gap waveguide
In order to overcome the problems of high loss, low efficiency and high sidelobe level of millimeter-wave multibeam array antenna,a design method of low sidelobe multibeam array antenna based on gap waveguide technology is proposed in this paper.Firstly,a double-layer multibeam feed network topology based on Butler matrix is designed. The four output ports of the traditional Butler matrix are connected to the unequal power dividers, which are expanded to eight output ports to realize the redistribution of output power, thereby achieving the purpose of low sidelobe design. Then, the double-layer and single-layer directional couplers, crossovers and unequal power dividers based on ridge gap waveguide are designed and the whole low-sidelobe multibeam array antenna is realized. Finally, the antenna is manufactured and measured. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulation results, and the sidelobe level is effectively reduced, which verifies the performance of the proposed low sidelobe multibeam array antenna.
