Agricultural prowess is the cornerstone of a modern socialist nation,and a robust business structure is integral to the establishment of an agricultural powerhouse.Given China's reality as a vast nation with numerous small-scale farmers,building an agricultural powerhouse necessitates a focus on the long-standing presence of smallholder farms.The key lies in expediting the cultivation of new agricultural business entities,and upgrading the production and industrial systems through the development of a modern business architecture.This paper introduces the concept of"corporate agriculture"as a central tenet,aiming to address the critical issue of"who will cultivate."It seeks to uncover the new essence of the rural two-tier management system through innovation in agricultural business models,fostering a high-caliber management team suited to the advancement of modern agriculture,and providing a solid foundation for speeding up the development into a strong agricultural nation.The research indicates that corporate agriculture has evolved and expanded in practice,characterized by corporate governance,market-driven operations,cutting-edge technological equipment,and an optimal scale of operation.To advance the construction of an agricultural powerhouse,it is essential to adapt to the evolving relationship between people and land,hasten the transformation of agricultural business models,refine the agricultural business structure of legal entities,support stable production and supply with a suitable scale,bolster industry resilience through integrated entities,enhance technological innovation with demand-driven empowerment,and boost competitiveness with a dual-tier operational approach,thereby charting a path for an agricultural powerhouse with Chinese characteristics.
