LU Tong,a poet in Tang Dynasty,often intentionally demonstrated a clear and full self-awareness in his po-etry.As a result,his self-referential writing was highlighted in his poems.LU adopted self-referential writing more frequently than most poets from Tang and Song Dynasties.More importantly,his self-referential writing also conveyed a clear self-identi-ty review and rationality.The self-referential writing is manifested differently in different personal pronouns.This mode of ra-tional self-examination through the self-referential writing not only provides an example for self-referential writing in Song Dy-nasties,but also becomes an important transition from Tang to Song Dynasties in Chinese poetry.
