The Convergence of Different Circles of People and Expansion of Poetic Connotation of Luzhou in Late Qing Dynasty:Around WANG Shangchen's Social Interactions
As a strategic transportation and military hub of Anhui Province in the late Qing Dynasty,Luzhou's elevated status in modern times has attracted attention.WANG Shangchen,a scholor from Luzhou,born into a prominent family dur-ing a period of great changes.WANG forged numerous friendships and continued to compose poetry,leaving behind nearly a thousand poems related to his social interactions.His poetry preserves valuable information about the frequent exchanges a-mong literati of the late Qing Dynasty in the Jianghuai region.Investigating WANG's social interactions and related poetry not only allows for the recreation of a vivid cultural picture of the Jianghuai region in the late Qing and early Republic of China era.His poems also,under the trend of Luzhou's elevated political status in modern times,demonstrates the cultural evolution due to the convergence of various circles,such as the political arena,literary world,and ordinary people,and the expansion of po-etic connotation.
