The Value of Languages of Ethnic Minority in Old Local Gazettes:A Case Study of Local Gazettes of Yunnan and Guizhou in Period of Qing Dynasty and Republic of China
The compilation and research of language materials of ethnic minority in old local gazettes can significantly en-hance the depth and breadth of language studies of ethnic minority in China.The local gazettes from Yunnan and Guizhou of the Qing Dynasty and Republic of China contain rich language materials of ethnic minority.The materials are of outstanding value in four aspects:exploring the relationship between language and culture,the language ecology of ethnic minority;investi-gating the fusion of material cultures of multiple ethnic minorities in history;studying the history of languages of ethnic minor-ity and their writing scripts and analyzing the unique words/characters formations of languages of ethnic minority.The value of materials from languages of ethnic minority contained in the Qing Dynasty and Republic of China local gazettes are explored through exhaustive collection,organization,and in-depth analysis.As a result,the important reinferences are provided for a comprehensive study of the value of languages of ethnic minority in old local gazettes.
