Analysis of the awareness of core knowledge on cancer prevention and treatment in Yixing and its influencing factors
Objective:To understand the awareness of core knowledge on cancer prevention and treatment among permanent residents in Yixing City and explore its influencing factors,so as to provide a scientific basis for the de-velopment of cancer prevention and control programs.Methods:Using a multi-stage sampling method,from June 2023 to August 2023,a questionnaire survey on core knowledge of cancer prevention and treatment was conducted among permanent residents aged 15-69 in Yixing City.Multiple Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the influencing factors of awareness of core knowledge on cancer prevention and treatment.Results:A total of 652 per-manent residents in Yixing City were included in this survey,with 81.18％being aware of core knowledge on canc-er prevention and treatment.There were statistically significant differences in the awareness of core knowledge on cancer prevention and treatment among different genders,age groups,household registrations,marital statuses,ed-ucational levels,annual family incomes,and occupations(P＜0.05).Multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that factors affecting awareness were gender and occupation(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The awareness of core knowl-edge of cancer prevention and treatment among the permanent residents in Yixing City is generally high,but the awareness rate of some characteristic groups is still low,so it is necessary to strengthen the publicity of cancer pre-vention and control among key groups to further improve the knowledge level of cancer prevention and control among all residents.
