Expression and clinical significance of FBXW7 and SOCS1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissue
Objective:To investigate the expression levels and clinical significance of F-box and WD repeat do-main containing 7(FBXW7)and suppressor of cytokine signaling 1(SOCS1)in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)tissue.Methods:One hundred NPC patients who were hospitalized in our hospital during the period from May 2018 to May 2020 were selected as the study subjects,and pathological biopsy cancer tissue specimens were collected,as well as data on the clinical characteristics of the patients;another 32 patients with chronic nasopharyngitis were se-lected as the control group.Immunohistochemical staining and protein immunoblotting were applied to detect the ex-pression of FBXW7 and SOCS1 in tissues,the relationship between the expression levels of FBXW7,SOCS1 and clinical pathological features was further analyzed;Kaplan-Meier curves were plotted to analyse the effect of FBXW7 and SOCS1 expression on the prognostic survival of patients;proportional hazard regression model(Cox)regression analysis of risk factors affecting prognostic mortality in NPC patients was done.Results:The positive expression rates of FBXW7 and SOCS1 in the NPC group were significantly lower than those in the control group(X2:23.871,28.969,P<0.001);the 3-year survival rate was significantly higher in patients with positive expression of FBXW7 than that in patients with negative expression(84.38%vs 54.41%,P=0.002),and the 3-year survival rate was significantly higher in patients with positive expression of SOCS1 than that in patients with negative expres-sion(93.94%vs 49.25%,P<0.001);negative expression of FBXW7 and SOCS1 was a risk factor for death in NPC patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the tissues of NPC patients,the positive expression rates of FBXW7 and SOCS1 are relatively low,and the expression of both is closely associated with the prognosis of NPC patients.
