The pharmacognosy of two Yi medicines,Thalictrum baicalense and Mingmu tea were studied by means of character identification,microscopic identification and physicochemical identification.The results showed that the roots and stems of Thalic-trum baicalense were dark brown and yellow with obvious nodes,small gas,bitter taste.The outermost layer of the root cross-section is a series of epidermal cells,and the cork layer is composed of 4～6 irregular polygonal cork cells.Berberine nitrate crystals can be seen in the microchemical reaction of medicinal materials.Mingmu tea is purplish red conical buds,hard and brittle,fragrant,slight-ly bitter and astringent taste;The structures of epidermal cells,stone cells and ducts were revealed by microscopic identification.The micro-sublimation experiment showed feathery crystals of light brown color.
