Effects of Drought Stress on Growth Characteristics of Different Strains of Chenopodium quinoa at Seedling Stage
In order to provide theoretical support and technical guidance for the selection of Chenopodium quinoa varieties in arid ar-eas,the effects of different concentrations of polyethylene glycol(PEG-6000)on the growth characteristics of Chenopodium quinoa seedling were analyzed. The results showed that the growth and physiological response of different strains of Chenopodium quinoa under drought stress were different. The plant height, leaf area and biomass of Chenopodium quinoa decreased with the increase of drought stress. The different responses of Chenopodium quinoa strains to drought stress indicated their different drought resistance characteristics.Black and red Chenopodium quinoa strains showed better adaptability and higher drought resistance under certain stress levels, while gray and white Chenopodium quinoa strains showed relatively higher sensitivity to drought stress. Therefore, when planting Chenopodium quinoa in dry areas,it is more appropriate to select black and red strains with strong drought resistance.
