Study on the Adsorption of Heavy Metal Copper in Pig Manure by Modified Attapulgite Clay
Modified attapulgite was used as adsorbent to adsorb heavy metal copper from manure in livestock farms. The effects of different acids and concentrations on the modification of attapulgite were compared. The effects of adsorbent dosage, adsorption time, initial copper ion concentration and pH value on the adsorption were discussed by single factor and response surface method. The results showed that 4.0 mol/L hydrochloric acid modified attapulgite had strong adsorption capacity for copper elements. The op-timal adsorption conditions were:temperature of 25℃,dosage of 1.0 g,shaking time of 40 minutes,pH value of 8.0,and the highest adsorption rate for heavy metal copper reached 60.21%.This study provided an effective adsorbent material for the removal of heavy metal copper from manure in aquaculture farms.
