A Study on the Image of the Main God of the Portrait Stone in Han Dynasty in Northern Shaanxi and Western Shanxi
This article reviews the development of the deity portraits in Northern Shaanxi and Western Shanxi in Han Dynasty,and believes that the earliest deities to appear in this area were Fuxi and Nyuwa.Later,before the introduction of the Western Queen Mother belief and its widespread popularity,the chicken-head and cow-head human body deities sat on the Xuanpu as the main deities.After a short period of time,the Western Queen Mother became the most important funeral belief in the portrait stone tombs of this region in Han Dynasty,At the same time,analyzed the male immortal identity in the portrait combination of the Western Queen Mother,it can be seen that Yushi,Xianguan,Zilu,and Dongwang Gong.
