Research on Mahler's Early Symphonies from the Perspective of Narrative Studies——Interpreting both"reality"and"possible world"
Mahler,a late Romantic composer, created his early symphonies in the late 19th century, which was a period of expansion and formal extension of symphonic concepts,as well as the beginning of independent musical narratives for composers.Mahler proposed the idea of"creating a world through symphonies",and the"world"he created in music was a"possible world"related to the real world, through which he completed his musical autobiography. The complexity of Mahler's music lies in its deviation from the original intention, where language narration completes its own meaning.Through heterogeneous discourse and the insertion of different topics, symphonies achieve themselves and lead the musical language towards modernism.
