From"Analyzing Dance in the Two Han Dynasties"to"Searching for Dances on Oracle Bones"——A Review of Peng Song's Research Orientation on the History of Ancient Chinese Dance
Peng Song(1916-2016)was a famous researcher on the history of ancient dance in China.In the compilation of the first History of Ancient Chinese Dance in New China,Peng Song wrote the"Qin and Han,Three Kingdoms,Two Jins,and Southern and Northern Dynasties"sections.In other words,in the study of the general history of ancient Chinese dance,"Dance of the Two Han Dynasties"is his research field.To this end,he made remarkable achievements in the integrated research of Han Fu,Yuefu poetry and Han portraits.Subsequently,he expanded his new imagination on the study of"Sui and Tang dance"by using the topic of"Dunhuang Dance".Not only did he reveal the cultural connection between Xi Liang Ji and"Dunhuang Dance",but he also explored the internal quality of Tang and Song dance in its evolution from the"Tang Dance Picture"in Japan and the"Li Dynasty Banquet Music"in Korea.Furthermore,he focused on the Zhou Dynasty's Da Wu dance to explore the narrative strategy and structure of poetry,music,and dance in ancient Chinese epic song and dance dramas.Finally,late in his life,he devoted himself to"Searching for Dances on Oracle Bones",leaving behind many valuable achievements and inspiring ideas.
