The study of ancient Chinese music history is closely related to various branches of Chinese music literature,such as bibliography,bibliology,studies on compilation of lost materials,collation studies,exegesis studies,textual research studies,and so on.Bibliography is a science that studies the general laws governing the formation and development of cataloging work;Bibliology is the academic activity and achievement of studying different versions of the same book;The study of collecting and organizing lost literature materials in existing literature aims to restore their original appearance as much as possible,so that they can be reused and studied again;Collation studies is a discipline that studies the methods of organizing ancient Chinese literature;Exegesics is a traditional discipline in China that studies the meaning of ancient Chinese words.Textual research is the process of organizing,proofreading,annotating,and compiling ancient texts.The disciplines of Bibliography,Bibliology,Studies on Compilation of Lost Materials,Collation Studies,Exegesis,and Textual Research in Music Literature are mainly important for the study of music literature.Mastering these disciplines is conducive to the collection,verification,and organization of historical data on ancient music,which is the foundation of our research on ancient music history.
