On the Career of Li Jing as a Qin Master in the Republic of China——Also on the Two Hand-down Fei Quan Qin
Li Jing(Boren)was a highly influential qin master during the period of the Republic of China.He studied in Japan in his early years,and served in the Kuomintang Navy for many years after returning to China.His primary qin teacher was Yang Zongji,with whom he maintained a close relationship as a student and friend for a long time.They were both main members of the Yueyun Bieye Gathering of Qin and the Jiu Yi Qin Society organized by Yang.Li Jing had a vast collection of famous qin,including the Du You qin and Fei Quan qin handed down from the Tang Dynasty.This paper will discuss Li Jing's career as a qin master,investigate the two surviving Fei Quan qin,and present new perspectives based on historical data.Li Jing's qin collection was mostly inherited by his daughter,Li Wanyu,whose tragic experiences and death deeply saddened Li Jing.
