Cheng Dan'an is the most outstanding representative in the history of modern Chinese medicine.He has designed the framework of modern Chinese medicine disciplines,established the model of modern Chinese medicine higher education,interpreted the theoretical connotations of some classic Chinese medicine theories,invented the acupuncture prescription for cold damage,and con-structed the modern acupuncture discipline.In addition,he has made pioneering achievements in the academic development,clinical application and talent training of Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion.The academic achievements of Cheng Dan'an are also insepa-rable from his ideological guidance of being based on clinical practice,focusing on academic theory,adhering to Chinese medicine and keeping the right path,and keeping pace with the times.The academic thoughts of Cheng Dan'an have and will guide us to better in-herit,innovate and develop Chinese medicine.
