“The broad bean leaf method”, “the cucumber seed leaf method” and “the radish block method” were established in this work to fit the fungicidal bioassay of Pellicularia sasakii, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Erwinia carotovora respectively. It is easy and simple to prepare the materials and to master the technique. By the methods many sample chemicals can be assayed in a short time with ease. The temperature and the humidity for experimental condition are controlled easily. By comparison between seedling method (in vivo) and method mentioned above, the result indicate that the two screening methods are quite similar in the effect of protecting plant disease. “confront culture method” was established, which is suitable for studying the natural active substance with antifungal activity in vitro.
