Research on Failure Mechanism of a CAN Bus Isolated Transceiver
The failure of CAN bus isolation transceiver was studied, and the failure mechanism was studied by means of analysis. After the CAN bus isolation transceiver was installed,it failed during the reliability growth test for 115 h.The failure phenomenon was that there was a signal between the CANH and CANL of the product, but there was no signal at the receiving and transmitting ports,so normal communication cannot be carried out. After internal visual inspection and X-ray inspection, abnormal transistor Q1 and Q2 were found.Through failure analysis,it was proved that after the solder joint at transistor Q1 is completely disconnected, the power burden of transistor Q2 was increased and the device was burnt out, resulting in device failure. After troubleshooting,it was proved that due to the problem of the common pad of the device, the welding time was insufficient, and the welding was not completed and rewelded within 2 s.After analyzing the failure theory and reproducing the device failure, the failure mechanism of the CAN bus isolation transceiver is further proved.
