Dual-Point Refractive Index Optical Fiber Sensor Based on Composite Structure
A dual-point refractive index fiber sensor based on fiber balloon ring cascaded with fiber Bragg grating(FBG)is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The FBG is used for temperature compensation to eliminate the influence of temperature on refractive index measurement. Two independent interference structures are cascaded to realize dual-point sensing measurement based on wavelength division multiplexing. The refractive index sensitivity of the two measuring points is 126.326 nm/RIU and 141.109 nm/RIU,respectively.The sensor has the advantages of simple manufacture, low cost and small volume.
