基于技术范式转变的后发数字企业能力建构与追赶效应研究

数字化转型离不开数字化工具,而数字企业作为实现数字化工具生产与服务提供商,其技术追赶对我国数字经济建设具有重要意义,然而现有研究缺乏对后发数字企业技术追赶的深入探讨.本文选择容智公司这一实现追赶的后发数字企业作为研究对象,在分析其技术范式转变历程的基础上,提出数字能力建构推动技术追赶的过程模型.研究发现:(1)后发数字企业在追赶过程中,面对客户需求表现出被动或主动响应,触发其技术范式经历从模拟化、数字化到智能化的转变,该转变分别通过非认知的自适应行动与认知参与的解构行动实现;(2)技术范式转变为企业数字能力建构提供条件,推动后发数字企业建构数字即兴能力和数字协同能力,并呈现出由一元到二元的能力叠加效应;(3)数字能力的建构推动后发数字企业向技术业界领先与前沿迈进,实现从起跑到跟跑到换道超车.本文解构了后发数字企业技术追赶的过程机制,拓展与延伸了后发企业技术追赶和数字能力的研究边界.
Research on Digital Enterprise's Capability Cultivation and Catch-up Effect Based on Technological Paradigm Shift
Digital transformation has become a necessity for enterpris-es,yet only a minority of traditional Chinese enterprises have achieved remarkable results from this transition.As the saying goes,"To do a job well,one must first sharpen his tools."The digital transformation of traditional enterprises cannot be achieved without digital tools.Digital enterprises,as providers of digital tool production and services,play a crucial role in enabling the digital transformation of traditional enter-prises.Therefore,how to enhance the competitive advantages of digital enterprises and enable latecomer digital enterprises to catch up and surpass their competitors are critical focus areas for safeguarding or accelerating enterprise digital transformation to realize a digital econ-omy.However,latecomer digital enterprises face unique technological roles and contexts that pose challenges to their catch-up efforts.Unlike their role in empowering traditional enterprises,digital technologies in latecomer digital enterprises tend to integrate more closely with busi-ness operations,playing a leading role.At this point,the transformation cycle of technological paradigms,as the way of thinking and method-ology to address the underlying logic of digital technologies,is rapidly shortening and iterating,posing greater challenges to the technological catch-up of latecomer digital enterprises.Nevertheless,a review of existing research on enterprise catch-up from the perspective of tech-nological paradigms mostly focuses on latecomer traditional enterpris-es,exploring the transformation of technological paradigms in these enterprises from the viewpoints of instrumentalism and contextualism.This does not adequately address how latecomer digital enterprises can achieve technological paradigm shifts in the digital economy era to rap-idly respond to changes and leverage these shifts to drive technological catch-up.Capabilities play a significant role in the catch-up process of latecomer enterprises,and technological paradigm shifts bring opportunities for the capability building of latecomer digital enterprises,especially digital capabilities closely related to digital technologies and resources.Existing research on the catch-up of latecomer traditional enterprises has focused more on traditional dynamic capabilities,neglecting digital capabilities,which play a crucial role in creating and maintaining core competitive advantages in response to changes in the external environ-ment in the digital economy era.Especially for latecomer digital en-terprises where digital technologies are fully integrated with business operations,their development is closely linked to digital capabilities emphasizing the deployment of digital resources.Therefore,it is neces-sary to further understand how and what kind of digital capabilities are influenced by technological paradigm shifts in latecomer digital enter-prises to promote their catch-up efforts.To answer the core question of"How do latecomer digital enterprises construct digital capabilities through technological paradigm shifts to drive technological catch-up?",this paper selects Infodator Information Technology Company,a latecomer digital enterprise that has achieved catch-up,as the research object.Based on an analysis of its techno-logical paradigm shift process,a process model of digital capability construction driving technological catch-up is proposed.The findings are as follows:(1)In the process of catch-up,latecomer digital enter-prises respond passively or actively to customer demands,triggering a shift in their technological paradigm from analog,through digital,to intelligent.This shift is achieved through non-cognitive adaptive ac-tions and cognitively engaged deconstructive actions,respectively.(2)Technological paradigm shifts provide conditions for the construction of digital capabilities in enterprises,and the construction of digital ca-pabilities under the three ascending shifts in technological paradigms demonstrates a capability superposition effect,from the unary digital improvisation capability to the dual construction of digital synergy and digital improvisation capabilities.(3)The construction of digital capabilities pushes latecomer digital enterprises towards technological leadership and the forefront,enabling them to transition from starting out,to catching up,to overtaking through a change of track.The research contributions of this paper include the following:First,it focuses on latecomer digital enterprises and deconstructs the process of constructing digital capabilities through technological paradigm shifts to achieve catch-up,enriching the research on the catch-up of latecomer enterprises.Second,it analyzes the paths for latecomer digital enter-prises to achieve technological paradigm shifts based on non-cognitive and cognitive actions,achieving dynamic connections between differ-ent technological paradigms.Third,by incorporating digital capabili-ties into the research on the catch-up of latecomer digital enterprises,it identifies the types and action paths of digital capabilities that affect the catch-up of latecomer digital enterprises,expanding the connota-tion and research boundaries of digital capabilities.In summary,by grounding itself in the context of technological paradigm shifts in the digital economy era,this paper focuses on the technological catch-up of latecomer digital enterprises.It dynamically connects different stages of technological paradigm transitions,expands the research scenarios and theoretical boundaries of technological catch-up among latecomer enterprises,and further advances the research on digital capabilities.
