Spillover Effect of Enterprise Green Transformation in Production Networks:Quasi-natural Experimental Analysis Based on Carbon Emission Trading Pilot Policies
Green transformation of enterprises is the internal requirement for China to realize the goal of"double carbon"and high-quality development.Based on the data of China's A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2020,this paper tests the spillover effect and mecha-nism of green transformation of enterprises in the production network.Research findings:The implementation of the carbon emission trading pilot policy in the locations of the affili-ated companies(suppliers or customers)of listed companies has significantly promoted the green transformation of listed companies in non-pilot areas. The value transmission mecha-nism and information flow mechanism are the main channels of the production network spillover effect.Listed companies in state-owned,non-heavy polluting industries and with higher linkages to pilot enterprises are more affected by the spillover effect of corporate green transformation in production networks.Geographical distance and institutional distance significantly weaken the spillover effect of green transformation in the production network. This paper provides empirical evidence and policy implications for accelerating the green transformation of enterprises by using the production network spillover effect.
