Spatiotemporal variation of vegetation coverage and its meteorological causes in Arukhorqin Banner
Based on the MODIS ENVI data from 2000 to 2022,the pixel dichotomy method was applied to calculate the fractional vegetation coverage(FVC)in the Arukhorqin Banner. The Theil-Sen trend analysis,Mann-Kendall significance test, coefficient of variation and correlation analysis were used to explore the spatial and temporal variation characteristics of vegetation coverage and its meteorological influencing factors. The results showed that:the multi-year average vegetation coverage in Arukhorqin Banner was 63%,showing a spatial distri-bution pattern of high in the north and low in the south, and the vegetation coverage in the north was more stable. From 2000 to 2022,the vegetation coverage showed a fluctuating growth trend, with a growth rate of 0.7%/a,showing a trend of transformation from medium coverage to medium-high and high coverage. The area proportion of vegetation coverage improvement was 88.9%,and the area proportion of vegetation coverage degradation was 11.0%,the most serious degradation occurred in 2009.Sunshine duration and precipitation were the dominant meteorological factors affecting vegetation coverage, and drought caused sunshine duration and precipitation was the main cause of the degradation of vegetation coverage in 2009.
