Inner Mongolia is home to vast grasslands,large forests,great rivers and lakes,exten-sive wetlands,and deserts,making it the largest and most diverse ecological functional zone in northern China.It serves as a key ecological security barrier for northern China and is of great sig-nificance for ensuring the country's ecological security.This paper provides a comprehensive review of the current status and achievements in constructing key ecological security barrier in northern China,conducts an in-depth analysis of existing problems and challenges,and proposes a systematic and integrated framework,countermeasures,and recommendations for building these ecological bar-riers.The aim is to provide insights and references for strengthening ecological security barrier in northern China.
