This article takes five priority areas for biodiversity conservation in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Re-gion as the research object.Based on the characteristics and basic situation of each priority area,it analyzes its func-tional zoning, protection network, and protection gaps.Targeted suggestions are proposed to address the shortcomings of each priority area, providing technical support for optimizing the protection network of each priority area, improving the protection system, and implementing major biodiversity conservation projects. After research and analysis, the ex-isting protection networks in the five priority areas have begun to take shape, but there are still gaps in protection.Fur-ther optimization of network layout is needed to strengthen biodiversity protection.
