Analysis of the factors affecting the reproduction of Daphnia magna
In order to research the effects of different environmental factors on the growth and reproduction of Daphnia magna, the test was carried out according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD)guideline for the testing of chemicals No.211(Daphnia magna Reproduction Test). The results showed that compared with other quarters, the Daphnia reproduction quantity was the lowest, the first brood was the latest, and the intrinsic rate of population increase was the lowest in fourth quarter. The results of single factor analysis of variance showed that there were significant differences in the Daphnia reproduction quantity, first brood and the intrinsic rate of population increase in the fourth quarter compared with other quarters(p<0.05).In addition, the Daphnia reproduc-tion was lower in the closed environment than in the unclosed environment. The results of single factor analysis of vari-ance showed that there were significant differences in the reproduction quantity of Daphnia in closed and unclosed en-vironments(p<0.05).The results showed that the seasonal changes and the closed/unclosed environment still affected Daphnia magna even under the stable controlled laboratory conditions.
