Characteristics of Ancient and Famous Tree Resources in Inner Mongolia
Based on the survey data of ancient and famous trees in Inner Mongolia,this paper conducts a statistical and analytical study on the characteristics of these trees,including their quantity,species,age,distribution,health status,and cultural value.The results indicate that Inner Mongolia is rich in ancient tree resources with a diverse range of tree species,widespread distribution,and generally good growing environments.However,a significant proportion of the ancient trees are either in a state of decline or endangered,with particularly severe conditions observed among the first-class protected ancient trees and those with individual property rights.Timely measures are necessary to address these issues.Accordingly,the paper puts forward recommendations for the protection and management of ancient and famous tree resources in aspects such as legislation and enforcement,responsible management,record improvement,scientific maintenance,increased investment,and public education.
