Trial of Four Biological Agents for the Control of Orgyia Ericae
In recent years, the plants in the sand control area of Alashan Left Banner have been severely affected by the infestation of Orgyia Ericae, which greatly restricts the normal function of windbreak and sand fixation. In order to find a safe, environmentally friendly, and effective insecticide, this paper conducted toxicity tests on the larvae of Orgyia Ericae with different concentrations of four agents, namely 3%abamectin,5%eucalyptus oil,1.0%matrine soluble liquid, and 26%abamectin and azinphosmethyl suspension in the laboratory, and the same concentration in the forest. The most suitable, safe, and effective biological agent selected for local use is 5%eucalyptus oil at 1 500 times dilution, providing a reference for the large-scale control of Orgyia Ericae infestation in the future.
