Progress in Research on Carbon Emission Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Intermittent Rivers
The continuous increase in greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere has led to a series of environmental issues, among which CO2 and CH4 are the greenhouse gases with the greatest contribution to global warming.River ecosystems are an important source/sink of greenhouse gases, and among them, intermittent rivers have attracted widespread attention from domestic and international scholars in recent years, especially the study of their carbon emissions has gradually become a hot topic in this field. At present, the research on carbon emissions of intermittent rivers mainly focuses on the characteristics of intermittent river emissions and the mechanisms of greenhouse gas emissions from intermittent rivers. Therefore, this study reviews the spatiotemporal variation characteristics of carbon emissions from intermittent rivers and their potential influencing factors,in order to provide a strong reference for a comprehensive understanding of the carbon cycle in intermittent rivers.
